SYNLAB participates in the prevention and detection of breast cancer risk
Discover how genetic counselling can change the lives of patients and their families.
In Switzerland, about 6,200 new cases of breast cancer are detected each year in women and about 50 in men (figures from the Swiss Cancer League).
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in Switzerland. Even though treatment has progressed considerably, it is still the leading cause of death in women under the age of 60. And although the risk increases after the age of 50, a quarter of patients diagnosed with breast cancer are under 50!
Today, there are screening or prevention methods that complement mammography or biopsy. Thanks to BRCA analysis, it is possible to identify the genetic risk of developing breast cancer. Find out how SYNLAB can support women with the BRCA gene and their relatives by detecting the risk thanks to accurate analysis and genetic counselling by our professionals.
